FocusPoint International anticipates that the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season will have slightly above-average activity. Forecasts predict that there is a near-normal or slightly above-normal probability for major hurricanes making landfall along the continental Unites States coastline and in the Caribbean. The Atlantic hurricane season officially extends from June 1 to November 30 each year, the period during which tropical disturbances and cyclones usually form in the Atlantic Ocean. Below are some statistics regarding the 2017 season, considered the costliest hurricane season on record, produced an above-average 17 named storms.
